Bengaluru:

A 40-year-old marketing professional was found hanging at his Bengaluru home with preliminary inquiries suggesting that he had a marital dispute. No suicide note has been found so far.

Prashanth Nair, who has an eight-year-old daughter, held a senior position at a tech company. Pooja Nair, his wife of 12 years, works at another multinational firm.

Saidulu Adavath, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), North Bengaluru, said there was no allegation of torture by his wife and that they were separated over a year ago.

Prashanth Nair's father said in his complaint to the police that his son and daughter-in-law were living separately. He allegedly had an argument with his estranged wife on Friday after which his father tried to reach him over the phone. As his calls went unanswered, he reached his house and found him hanging from the ceiling fan.

The complainant said he believes that his son took his own life due to distress caused by his marital issues, but does not suspect anyone.

A case has been registered at Soladevanahalli Police Station and investigating is underway.
