Bengaluru: Tired of endless traffic jams and poor civic facilities, residents of Sarjapur Outer Ring Road took to streets today to protest. The road, part of the city's IT corridor, face traffic jams every evening.

The condition of roads and drains were among the common complaints raised by residents.

"There are no proper roads here. There is so much dust in the air. The drains are open. Even the waste is not being removed," Srinivasa, who works as an assistant manager in a logistics company, said.

Schoolchildren complained that traffic in the area is always a nightmare.

"I think it's a big problem that we can't get to our homes on time. We get stuck in traffic for a long time. The roads are pathetic," said Sakhi Mishra, a student.

The protest was organized by a group called ORR Sarjapur Rising.

Earlier protests had been held in Bengaluru's Whitefield area against its traffic and civic woes by a citizens' front called Whitefield Rising.
