Bengaluru: They come by the thousands every day. For the people of Bengaluru, going to the January flower show at the Lalbagh Botanical Gardens is an annual ritual some would never miss. And the crowds who make their way to the here are only increasing.
"It is one of the biggest charms of Bangalore in the winter season," said a visitor. The 240 acre garden has nearly 1000 varieties of plants and trees that are over a century old.
This year, it was time to honour Gustav Krumbiegel, a German man, whose 150th birth anniversary was marked to honour his contribution to the city's reputation for gardens and flowers. A green model of his house turned out to be a big attraction.
"I felt I need a dream house like this," Pramila, a visitor, told NDTV.
Another visitor who had braved the crowds, Sahana, said, "I was born and brought up in Bangalore and I have never missed any flower show for as long as I can remember."
