Budding singer commits suicide

Bangalore: A 21-year-old budding singer Aditya Nadig committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan at his house today here allegedly after his parents told him to concentrate on studies instead of pursuing a career in singing.

Aditya took the extreme step after his parents denied his participation in a music contest scheduled in Mumbai, police said.

Aditya, a final year student of BBM, had taken part in a music contest conducted by a TV channel, police said.
