About 200 children of a private school were swiftly evacuated to safety after a fire broke out in the school here today.
According to officials from the fire department, fire was noticed in one of the rooms in the first floor of the Silicon City Public Schools in Konanakunte, where waste materials had been dumped.
The school authorities evacuated the children from the school building and called in fire tenders, which doused the fire, Chief Fire Officer Erappa told PTI.
The cause of the fire is being investigated, he said.
