Dogs From Flood-Hit Chennai Find Safe Home in Bengaluru

The post on 'Hotel for Dogs' Facebook page has got good response with few even offering to board dogs once they are brought to Bengaluru.

Bengaluru: As the century's heaviest rains pounded Chennai leaving lakhs of people stranded, a few lucky canines from the flood-ravaged city have found a safe home in Bengaluru, thanks to the efforts of a dog boarding facilities provider.

With the skies opening up like never before, causing untold misery and devastation, Chennai-based "Hotel for Dogs" started getting distress calls from worried dog owners seeking help for their pets.

"As the rains keep pouring and our city is slowly sinking we have been getting a lot of distress calls from dog owners requesting us to board their dogs as they have been told to evacuate from their houses," 'Hotel for Dogs' said.

"As we can't take in dogs at the Hotel in Chennai we have decided to help dogs to move to our Bangalore facility tomorrow," it said in a December 1 post on their Facebook page with pictures of dogs boarded in a vehicle.

"All arrangements have been made for your dogs to travel safely to our Bangalore facility. They would be brought back once the situation is back to normal in Chennai. We have limited seats," the post added.

Shravan Krishnan is the founder of 'Hotel for Dogs' and TA Adhishwar is its Director, both alumnus of Loyola College, Chennai.

"If you need a place to board the dogs once they get to Bangalore, I can take in 2-3. I already have a dog, and they'll be in friendly company," Bharat Rameshwar said in his comment to the post.

The service by 'Hotel for Dogs', of course, is charged for at different rates.
