Bangalore: Reckless drunken drivers knocking down pedestrians at night is nothing new, but an Ivory Coast national did the unthinkable by knocking down four pedestrians under the influence of alcohol in broad daylight.
Phillip Calleo, 24, a BCA student at the Ambedkar College, knocked down four pedestrians at the Sigma Mall Junction on the busy Cunningham Road on Wednesday.
The incident took place around 9.30am, when Phillip was returning home after dropping his friend at the city railway station.
Philip had started drinking after leaving the railway station. When he neared Sigma Mall, he lost control of his vehicle and knocked down Kausar Ali, 45, who was walking on the pavement.
Kausar Ali's body slammed into the front windshield due to which she suffered head injuries.
