Bangalore: Disgraced spiritual guru Swami Nithyananda has managed to get a stay on the shooting of Kannada movie Swami Satyananda, which is believed to be based on the self-proclaimed godman's life.
Film producer Madan Patel had started shooting the movie and even offered Nithyananda a role in it. Taking a serious note of this, Nithyananda slapped a legal notice threatening to drag Patel to court if he did not stop the shooting of the movie immediately.
"I dont know how he came to the conclusion that this movie will harm his interest. It's like a famous Kannada proverb 'Kumbala kaayi kalla andre hegalu muttikondu nod da' akin to 'chor ki daadhi me tinka.' in Hindi," he said.
Admitting his plea, the court has directed Patel to stop the shooting and has summoned him to appear before the court for an explanation. The hearing will come up on April 23.
