Bengaluru: A fire broke out on Monday at the premises of Syngene, the contract research subsidiary of Biocon, but there were no reports of any casualties.
The fire was brought under control with the assistance of the local authorities, a statement issued by the company said.
"This is to inform that there has been an incident of fire at the Syngene Campus, Jigni Link road, which has been brought under control with the assistance of local authorities," the company said.
It also stated that preliminary reports indicated that no one was injured in the incident and there has been no loss of life.
The company has taken all necessary measures to ensure the safety of its employees, the statement said.
Karnataka Fire Department also tweeted that a chemical fire broke out in Biocon factory and eight vehicles had been sent to the spot.
Syngene offers integrated drug discovery and development services with capabilities in medicinal chemistry, biology and toxicology.
