Bangalore: In an alleged suicide pact, three of a five-member-strong family died after reportedly consuming poison while the others have been admitted to hospital, police said on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Varalakshmi (28) and her two children, aged six and two-and-a-half years, police said.
Varalakshmi's husband, Gopi, who has been admitted to hospital, is stated to be "out of danger" but the condition of her mother-in-law, is "critical", police said.
A purported suicide note left behind by Gopi, an entrepreneur, stated that they decided to end their lives as he had suffered huge loss in business, police added.
