Bangalore: Daughter of former Congress MP H G Ramulu, who was allegedly abducted for ransom from a crowded shopping complex in the state capital on Monday night, has been traced by city police in Chennai.

"Vishnuvandana is being brought back to Bangalore in a police vehicle. She was found alone at the Chennai Railway station by police," Bangalore South DCP Sonia Narang told PTI.

47-year-old Vishnuvandana was expected to reach Bangalore on Wednesday, Sonia said, adding, she could provide information on the nature of the crime after questioning her.

Vishnuvandana was allegedly abducted from a crowded shopping complex in Jayanagar around 7 pm on Monday when she had gone shopping along with her niece Dolly.

Ramulu had told reporters that his son-in-law Ravikumar had received a call after 7.30 pm from Vishnuvandana's phone and she told him that an unidentified man and a woman were taking her in a car and had demanded Rs 30 lakh ransom for her release.
