City Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths nabbed a five-member gang that was hatching a plan to commit a robbery, police said.
The accused, Arunkumar, Lokesh, Akash, Bharath and Jagdish were arrested by the CCB team yesterday and knives, wooden clubs, cricket bat, a four-wheeler and Rs 8,000 cash was recovered from them, a CCB statement said today.
The accused are allegedly involved in cases of murder, dacoity, theft in different police station limits in the city.
During interrogation it came to light that the gang was also planning to murder another gang member Shivakumar alias Shivu.
