Bangalore:
A history-sheeter was hacked to death by unidentified assailants near J P Nagar II stage at 6.30 am on Thursday.
The deceased, Ravi alias Mico Ravi, 35, was working in MICO Company, the police said. The incident occurred when he was returning home from work in his car. The assailants dragged him from his car and attacked with machetes and choppers before fleeing from the scene, the police added.
Soon after receiving information, police rushed to the spot and shifted Ravi to a hospital and then to a private nursing home, where he was declared brought dead.
Police sources said Ravi had three cases against him, including one murder and two attempts to murder cases in Tilak Nagar police station.
He was an accused in Jalli Venkatesh murder case in 2007, but was acquitted in all cases and his name was removed from rowdy sheet. Later, He joined MICO and was working as a supervisor. He has two children, police further said.
J P Nagar police who have registered a complaint said an old enmity might be the motive behind the murder.
"We have all the information of the accused and we will arrest them shortly," they added. Joint Commissioner of Police Pronab Mohanty and Assistant Commissioner of Police GB Manjunath inspected the spot. Police have registered a case and are further investigating in connection with the case.
