Bangalore:
An Irish tourist was allegedly molested by a man in the waiting room of Bangalore railway station, following which the man was arrested, police said today.
"We arrested the person yesterday for molesting the Irish tourist in the A/C paid waiting room at Bangalore Railway Station. He has been sent to judicial custody," Railways superintendent of police S N Siddaramappa said.
The man, hailing from Davanagere and a frequent traveller of the city, molested the 33-year-old woman, who was down with dysentery and was dehydrated as she reached the station at 6 am yesterday, under the pretext of helping her.
As the woman raised an alarm, he fled from the spot, the SP said, adding he was nabbed within an hour of the woman filing a complaint.
He has been booked under IPC section 354 (A) - sexual harassment, Siddaramappa said.
