A city court today convicted a man from Jammu and Kashmir, who was arrested here in 2007 for possessing weapons and firearms.
The court will pronounce the quantum of punishment on Wednesday.
Sessions Court Judge Kottaraiah M Hiremath convicted Imran alias Bilal for possessing weapons and firearms including AK-47 assault rifle and ammunition.
Bilal was picked up from his Hospet residence on the night of December 28, 2007.
Police had seized Bilal's bag containing an AK-47 assault rifle, 300 live rounds of AK-47 ammunition, four AK-47 magazines, five hand grenades, a satellite phone, mobile phones, SIM cards, a Bengaluru city map and other documents.
Bilal had studied in a private polytechnic in Bengaluru and was residing in Hospet.
