Bengaluru:
An alleged criminal taken for a psychiatric evaluation to a hospital in Bengaluru opened fire inside the premises today. The man was injured in the police firing that followed. He later succumbed to his injuries.
The man, Vishwa, was taken to the premier National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, or NIMHANS, this afternoon by the police for a check-up. But while in the hospital, he managed to snatch a rifle from a policeman and opened fire. There was no casualty.
Vishwa, 40, had been earlier arrested in 2012 in connection with a case of murder.
