Bangalore:
In a case of road rage, a young couple working as architects with an IT company in Domlur was assaulted by four autorickshaw drivers on Wednesday in Kudlu Main Road under Parappana Agrahara police limits.
The victims have been identified as Karthik, 30, and his wife Geetha aka Ezhilarasi, 28.
The police said that the incident occurred around 9.30 am while the couple was on their way to office in a car. An autorickshaw hit the car sparking off a minor clash between Karthik and the autorickshaw driver, who has been identified as Venkatesh. Three other autorickshaw drivers joined Venkatesh.
The argument turned ugly and the drivers twisted Karthik's hand. Geetha tried to stop the assault on her husband. But the assaulters pushed her away and then fled the scene.
Venkatesh was arrested near his residence in Kudlu village after Geetha filed a case against the assaulters with the Parappana Agrahara police. The three others are absconding.
"We have registered a case against the strangers who attacked the couple. Apart from arresting Venkatesh, we have also seized his autorickshaw. Three others are absconding. We are collecting information about them and will arrest them soon," said VK Vasudeva, police inspector, Parappana Agrahara.
