The multi-storey building collapsed in Bengaluru's Bellandur area on Wednesday.
Bengaluru:
The Bengaluru building that came crashing down on Wednesday, killing four people and injuring four others, had an extra floor constructed without the necessary permission, police have said.
A case of criminal negligence has been filed against owners and builders of the building
Vinay Kumar Doggula, Srinivas Reddy and others.
While the building in Bellandur had approvals for a stilt and three storeys, the builders had constructed an additional floor.
The city's civic body Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike or BBMP has suspended two officials over the violation.
An investigation into the incident has been asked to be filed within a week, authorities said.
