Bangalore: The cyber cell of the city police are investigating telephone calls received by a retired official of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, asking him to arrange for a night's stand with his wife and daughters.
The retired official suspected that a woman casual worker, whom he had fired for financial irregularities while he was the secretary of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, might be taking revenge on him.
The details of the man's wife and daughters were posted on an adult site, along with the retired official's name and phone number.
The aggrieved former official also suspected that the casual employee's brother and daughter were responsible for posting his family member's details on the website.
The complainant said he had been receiving calls at odd hours, seeking details of the women listed on the adult site. He alleged that he started getting calls from May. "I had then given the call details to the police, who let off the caller with a stern warning," he said.
The elderly man said he approached the police after he started receiving the calls again.
He alleged that he received death threats after he complained to the police.
The Kothanur police, who had registered the case, handed over the investigation to the cyber cell. The cyber police had taken down the web link, and were investigating. (All names have been withheld)
