Software firm employee booked in dowry death case

Bangalore: A software company employee was on Monday arrested here on charge of dowry harassment, days after his wife, whom he married only three months ago, allegedly committed suicide.

The arrest under Prevention of Dowry Act followed a complaint by the woman's parents, police said.

The woman allegedly committed suicide on June 3 by hanging herself in their house.

Her parents, who hail from Bihar, arrived here on Monday and submitted to police a personal diary of their daughter in which she had reportedly made reference to dowry harassment by her husband and also about his alleged affair with another woman, police said.
