Karnataka Home Minister G Parmeshwara today said the Tanzanian student in Bengaluru was not stripped or paraded naked. Below are the highlights of his press conference:
- 5 accused are being interrogated by police officials. We ave already informed external affairs ministry about it.
- There are 12,000 foreign students in Bengaluru, their protection is our duty. These kind of incidents should not happen.
- We are taking this case very seriously.
- 'We are investigating any kind of lapse in the probe
- The incident is condemnable, will assure security of students
- We will not protect them (culprits), we will take action according to law
- This is not a racist attack, this is just a response to an accident. Bengaluru doesn't have such kind of attitude
- There was no mention of being stripped or paraded in the student's statement
