Tanzanian Student Not Stripped, Says Karnataka Home Minister: Highlights
New Delhi: Karnataka Home Minister G Parmeshwara today said the Tanzanian student in Bengaluru was not stripped or paraded naked. Below are the highlights of his press conference:
  • 5 accused are being interrogated by police officials. We ave already informed external affairs ministry about it.
  • There are 12,000 foreign students in Bengaluru, their protection is our duty. These kind of incidents should not happen.
  • We are taking this case very seriously.
  • 'We are investigating any kind of lapse in the probe
  •  The incident is condemnable, will assure security of students
  • We will not protect them (culprits), we will take action according to law
  • This is not a racist attack, this is just a response to an accident. Bengaluru doesn't have such kind of attitude
  • There was no mention of being stripped or paraded in the student's statement
