Bangalore:
A teacher of a school in Bangalore has been booked for alleged sexual harassment of his girl students and a hunt is on to arrest him, police said today.
The cases against Basavaraj, a Hindi teacher, was registered under IPC section 354 (relating to outraging modesty of woman) on complaints from the students.
"The teacher is absconding and a search is on. He will be arrested soon," Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Siddaramappa said.
He said the girl students alleged that the teacher 'sexually harassed' them and threatened that he would fail them in exams if they informed anyone.
The teacher was allegedly warned by the school headmaster for 'sexually harassing' the girl students, but it did not deter.
