British Prime Minister Theresa May met children at a government school in Bengaluru
When a world leader comes visiting - the schedule is usually packed with serious bilaterals and much ceremony. In Bengaluru today, visiting British Prime Minister Theresa May went back to school.
At the Stonehill Government Higher Primary School, a few hundred children waited for their high-profile guest.
Ms May, fresh out of a meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, gravitated towards the children - who were waving flags - Indian flags, the yellow and red Karnataka flag - and a sprinkling of Union Jacks.
Squeals rose up in the air during a fly-past by Indian Air force planes.
"The aircraft were super and sakkath," the children gushed after the event, using the Kannada expression for great excitement.
When asked who their visitor had been - many appeared unsure. One boy said confidently, "Theresa May, British Prime Minister!"
Then it was back to class for the young ones and back to VIP meetings for Theresa May
In addition to the school visit and the meeting with the chief minister - her Bengaluru visit included a visit to a manufacturing centre in the Peenya Industrial area and a visit to a temple.
