A case has been registered against the school management under section 304-A (causing death by negligence) as no one was deputed to man the pool.
Two children drowned in a swimming pool of a school at Hoshangabad Road in Bhopal, police said today.
The victims were children of two drivers hired by Gyan Ganga International Academy School and lived on the campus, Misrod Police Station in-charge Kunwar Singh Mukati told news agency PTI.
The incident took place yesterday when Riya Kushwaha (4), daughter of Pawan Kushwaha, and Promod Kushwaha (3), son of Shanker Kushwaha, were playing near the pool, he said.
The two kids were fished out of the water and rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared them brought dead, Mr Mukati added.
After the post-mortem, police handed over the bodies to the families, he said.
"We have registered a case against the school management under section 304-A (causing death by negligence) as no one was deputed to man the pool, which was unlocked. Further investigations are on," the officer added.
