5-year-old dies after beating by relatives who had adopted her

Indore: A five-year-old girl was beaten to death in Indore on Wednesday by her relatives who had adopted her four months ago. The couple has been arrested by the police.

A post-mortem has confirmed the child was hit by a belt, sexually assaulted and injured on the head.

The victim had been adopted from Allahabad by a couple named Baby and Rajesh Singh Sainger.

Last night, neighbours heard the child shrieking before they saw Rajesh carrying her wrapped up in a sheet.  The police, summoned by neighbours, says he had left the house to get rid of the body.
