Bhopal: Bhopal experienced the hottest day of this season on Thursday at 41.7 degree celsius, Meteorological office said.
The temperature was one degree more than what the state capital witnessed on April 10.
Temperatures have also risen in other parts of Madhya Pradesh due to dry hot winds blowing in from neighbouring Rajasthan and reducing air moisture, they said.
The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Khajuraho at 45 degree celsius.
In Gwalior, the maximum temperature was recorded at 42.5 degrees celsius, Jabalpur - 42.3 degrees celsius and in Indore it was 40.2 degree celsius.
As per the Meteorological Department office forecast, the temperature is expected to increase further in the state in the next few days.
