Bhopal:
The body of an eight-year-old girl was found just 100 feet away from Madhya Pradesh's home minister Uma Shankar Gupta's house last evening. The minister was not at home when her body was discovered.
The daughter of a sweeper, she had come to visit Bhopal Mela close to the minister's house on Sunday. She went missing the same day.
Yesterday the police found her body which was identified by girl's mother based on the yellow frock she was wearing.
Today a group of people began protesting outside the minister's house after which security has been tightened around the area.
"The police are investigating the matter and are working on some clues. I would not like to share them as of now as the investigation is still on. I am certain that the attacker will be found soon," said the minister who is now back home.
Police say the post mortem report rules out rape. They have announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh to anybody who has clues on who the attacker was.
