The man broke into Bercha Mava Bhandar at around midnight on Saturday and broke one of the four CCTV cameras installed inside the shop. He then stole the cash by breaking into the cash-drawer, unaware that his actions were being captured by another CCTV camera right above the drawers where the cash was kept.
After taking the money, the man decided to take a nap while waiting for the morning before and escaped the shop at around 5 am with the cash.
The owner of the shop, Pankaj Khandelwal has said that a CD of the CCTV footage has been handed over to the police and he hopes the thief "he would be caught soon as his face and his actions are clearly visible in the video."
Bhopal police is now looking into the matter.
