Heat wave grips MP, Bhopal records hottest day of season

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh continues to be in the grip of hot winds and humid conditions with the mercury soaring over 45 degree Celsius in some parts of the state.

The highest temperature of 45.1 degrees Celsius was recorded in Khajuraho yesterday which was the highest temperature of the season in the state, Met office said in Bhopal today.

Naugaon recorded a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius, Guna (43.5 degrees Celsius), Satna (43.4 degrees Celsius), Hoshangabad (43.3 degrees Celsius), Gwalior (43.2 degrees Celsius) and Jabalpur (43.1 degrees Celsius).

State capital Bhopal recorded the hottest day of the season with mercury touching 42.3 degrees Celsius while the temperature in Indore was 41 degrees Celsius.

The Met office has predicted that during the next few days, the temperature in northern parts of Madhya Pradesh might be in the range of 44 to 47 degrees Celsius while in other parts of the state it would be between 41 to 45 degrees Celsius.
