The patrolling team saw the cub stuck in a pit and immediatelytranquilised it to give first aid.
The tiger cub was brought to Van Vihar National Park for further medicaltreatment. The cub had injured both its hind limbs, which became paralysed.
Dr Sudesh Waghmare, Assistant Director Van Vihar National Park, told NDTV"the cub was unfed for over seven days when the forest officials broughtit to Vanvihar 5 days ago. Most probably it was abandoned by its mother. And its weak health condition became a hurdle in the treatment. Doctors couldnot operate or even x-ray the cub till the time it was back on normal diet andthat is the reason why they waited before attending to its injured limbs. Thecub developed toxemia a condition where blood starts developing toxins and diedtoday morning between 4:30-5 am."
