Bhopal: A 55-year-old man was beaten to death in front of his mother by his three sons for watching television at high volume in a slum area here, police said on Tuesday.
The three sons - Jitendra, Mahesh and Sonu Dagode - used to be angry with their father, Nandkumar, for not working and said they could not feed him. Their father would taunt them, saying if they can't feed him they could leave his house, a hut in the Saraswati Nagar slum area.
"On Monday night, when they found Nandkumar watching television on high volume they shouted at him for not working and spending time watching television. Nandkumar said that he would not work. The three brothers using rods and other items beat him to death," city superintendent of police Rajesh Bhadoria told IANS.
Mr Nandkumar's mother Bhikhan Bai was also present in the house at the time.
"When Nandkumar's two brothers came to rescue him, they also attacked them and both are hospitalized," added Mr Bhadoria.
The three brothers fled, but were arrested by Shahpura police Tuesday.
