Bhubaneswar: Five Kolkata-bound flights, including an international one, had to make unscheduled landing at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar after fog and poor visibility disrupted operations at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, a senior airport official said.
The planes which made emergency landing between midnight last night to 4 am today include two from Delhi, one each from Mumbai and Dhaka to Kolkata, Airport Director Sharad Kumar said.
"We have activated all amenities. One of the five planes has already taken off for its destination from the airport here," Mr Kumar said.
Most of the passengers were lodged in hotels and some at the airport terminal, the airport authorities said.
