Bhubaneswar:
At least three people were killed and one sustained critical injuries when an overhead live electric wire snapped and fell on them at a crowded weekly market in Odisha's Malkangiri district, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred on Sunday in Sindhiput village, over 700 km from Bhubaneswar, when people were busy shopping.
The site is located in an inaccessible area, Superintendent of Police Akhileswar Singh said, adding further details were awaited.
The district of Malkangiri is considered a Maoist strong hold.
