Bhubaneswar: A woman rag picker was seriously injured when a bomb exploded in Bhubaneswar today, police said.
The woman while collecting polythene bags from a small dump yard from unit-8 area had inadvertently picked up the explosive kept in a bag which went off, they said quoting eyewitnesses.
With serious injury the woman was found rolling in the place with pain. After being informed by the people, police took her to the Capital Hospital here for treatment.
She was later shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital at Cuttack as her condition became serious.
Forensic experts of police had collected remnants from the spot to ascertain the nature of the explosive.
