Bhubaneswar: A Kolkata-Bhubaneswar-Mumbai IndiGo flight with 178 passengers and crew members was today grounded at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar due to technical problems.
Airport Director R Mahalingam said some technical problem was detected in the aircraft after the flight landed at the airport in Bhubaneswar and its onward journey was cancelled.
He said there is no bird hit during landing of the flight at Bhubaneswar, as reported in a section of the media.
It was a normal landing and all the 178 passengers and crew are safe, Mr Mahalingam said.
The airlines made alternative arrangement for sending the passengers by another flight to Mumbai as the affected aircraft remained grounded at the airport where engineers are undertaking repair work, the director said.
Airlines officials were not immediately available for comment.
