Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would not celebrate his birthday tomorrow as a mark of respect to the jawans who laid down their lives fighting against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.
"The Chief Minister has decided not to celebrate his birthday tomorrow," a communication received from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said.
Mr Patnaik has also requested his well wishers and ruling BJD workers and leaders not to organise any celebration tomorrow.
They were further requested not to visit Navin Niwas to greet him on the occasion, it said.

On earlier occasions, Mr Patnaik did not celebrate his birthday in 2011, 2013 and 2014 due to natural calamities like floods, cyclones Phailin and Hudhud.
