Two securitymen injured in landmine explosion in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Two security men were injured when landmines planted by Maoists exploded on Tuesday during a combing operation in Orissa's Kandhamal district, police said.

Three landmines exploded during the combing operation by the Special Operation Group (SOG) in Sonepur Ghati forest of Daring badi area, SP (Kandhamal) J N Pankaj said.

Two claymore mines were also recovered from the site, he said.

Two SOG personnel, who were injured in the explosions, were admitted to a nearby hospital, the SP said, adding that some Maoist literature and live cartridges were also recovered from the area.

Three suspected Maoists were arrested during the operation in the area, while some others detained for interrogation, he said.
