How To Make Panchphoron Aloo: Buy These 5 Ingredients

1. Potatoes

Potatoes are the key ingredient in this dish. Make sure to use good-quality potatoes, as using old or rotten ones won't give you the desired results. In this recipe, you'll be required to dice them into cubes to cook them.

2. Vegetable Oil

The next ingredient that you'll need to make this dish is vegetable oil. Once you have diced the potatoes into cubes, transfer them to a pan with oil. Pan-fry them until they turn golden brown in colour before adding the masalas.

3. Turmeric

Turmeric (haldi) is added to most Indian dishes. This aloo dish also requires you to use this spice powder. It helps give it a distinct colour and flavour. Additionally, you can also add red chilli powder and adjust the quantity as per your taste preference.

4. Whole Spices

Whole spices, too, are an essential ingredient for this recipe. Buy whole spices such as fennel seeds, fenugreek seeds, nigella seeds, and mustard seeds. Mix them nicely with the potatoes to ensure that the flavours blend together well.

5. Coriander Leaves

Coriander leaves are usually seen as an additional ingredient to add. But in fact, they are what makes a dish truly complete. Once the potatoes are fully cooked, do not forget to garnish them with a handful of fresh coriander leaves. They also add a nice aroma to it.
