Chapra: Rejecting the Gujarat model of development, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today alleged that Gujarat has the largest population of malnourished women and said they do not need the model which "cannot adequately feed women population" in its own state.
"Gujarat has maximum population of women suffering from malnourishment...This is the Gujarat model of development which BJP is propagating elsewhere too," Mr Kumar said while addressing a series of election meetings in Saran district.
"We do not require the Gujarat model where women are not getting adequate food," Mr Kumar said slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had earlier served as Chief Minister of that for three terms.
Mr Kumar, who resumed campaigning today after a two-day break for Dussehra festival, claimed that NDA had lost its steam in the first two phases of voting in the state.
"BJP which tried to create an environment in its favour in the Bihar (assembly) elections has lost its steam in the first two phases of voting and after third round of polling the saffron party will have to pack up from the state," he said.
On the 'dog remark' by Union Minister VK Singh and other comments of BJP ministers and RSS leaders, Mr Kumar charged the saffron party with trying to win Bihar elections on the basis of "negative" agendas.
The JD-U leader said he was seeking votes on the issue of development and on the basis of work done by his government.
