Bihar Election: Rs 16 Lakh Cash, 130 Litre Liquor seized

New Delhi: Big seizures of cash, liquor and drugs have been affected during the first two phases of the Bihar assembly elections, with Rs 15.99 in cash and 130 litres of liquor being confiscated on Saturday alone, an official report said today.

The revelation was made in a seizure report of Bihar Police released by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in a statement.

According to the consolidated report, Rs 68.28 lakh in Nepali currency, fake Indian currency of the face value of Rs 16.76 lakh, and Rs 60.30 lakh in foreign currency have been seized in Bihar so far.

A total of Rs 17.55 crore in cash has been seized till October 17, it added.

"A total of 837.91 kg ganja, 9,132 kg of mahua, 336 gm heroin and afeem, and 8.662 kg gold jewellery were seized in Bihar," the ECI report stated.
