In a 'colourful' variation of his "suit boot ki sarkaar" jibe, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today charged Prime Minister Narendra Modi with changing clothes, all of different hues, "16 times" during his recent five-day US visit.
"He will wear one suit, then another, then yellow clothes, then green, then blue, then pink... During his recent US visit, Modi was seen in 16 dresses on different occasions," he said at a rally in Bihar, where assembly elections will start next week. "Have you ever seen Nitish-ji (Chief Minister Nitish Kumar) in any other colour but white?" he added.
The Congress is taking on PM Modi's party, the BJP, in alliance with Bihar's ruling Janata Dal United and Lalu Prasad's Rashtriya Janata Dal. And with four days to go before the elections, the senior Congress leader is holding three rallies in Bihar today.
Today, endorsing the alliance's chief ministerial candidate further and drawing a comparison with PM Modi - the BJP face for this election -- Mr Gandhi said, "On one side you have Nitishji who visits his people, on the other you have Mr Modi who only visits foreign countries... I have never seen a photograph in which Mr Modi is seen with a farmer, a labourer or an unemployed young man."
