Nitish Kumar Going for Second Marriage: BJP's Reply on 'Dulha' Jibe

Nitish Kumar Going for Second Marriage: BJP's Reply on 'Dulha' Jibe
Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister, Sushil Modi has blamed Nitish Kumar for severing ties with BJP in June 2013.
Buxar, Bihar: In a sarcastic rejoinder to the grand alliance's claim of having a 'dulha' or a bridegroom in Bihar chief minister, Nitish Kumar, the BJP today said the Janata Dal (United) leader was going for a second marriage, but has few takers.

"Nitish Kumar is going for second marriage. No girl wants to garland a man going for second marriage," senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi told an election rally.

He blamed Mr Kumar for severing 17-year-old ties with BJP in June 2013 opposing Narendra Modi's candidature as the BJP's campaign committee chief for the 2014 general elections.

The former deputy chief minister's remark came in response to the Rashtriya Janata Dal leader, Lalu Prasad's repeated jibes that their alliance has a dulha in Mr Kumar while the BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has none.

The grand alliance of Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal (United), and Congress have named Mr Kumar as their chief ministerial candidate in the Bihar poll.

The BJP-led NDA has not named anybody as its nominee for the post and is fighting the poll in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
