Chennai: DMK treasurer MK Stalin today said the victory of the Grand Alliance led by Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad in Bihar showed that people desired a secular government in that state.
"This victory in Bihar shows that people desired that a secular coalition government should be formed," he told reporters at the airport here before leaving for Patna to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of Mr Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister scheduled for tomorrow.
"This victory of the Grand Alliance is seen not as one confined to Bihar or North India but to the whole of the country," he said, replying to another question indicating that the spectacular win of the Nitish-Lalu combine had given fresh energy to the Opposition parties.
Asked if there was a possibility for such a Grand Alliance to be formed in Tamil Nadu, he said, "You will come to know if it happens, it cannot happen without you knowing it."
