New Delhi:
  • Request increased budgetary support for Rs 5000 cr in fiscal year 2010

  • New 'Izzat' scheme: Poor to get 25-rupee monthly tickets for 100-km travel
  • All students will receive a 60% concession on tickets
  • Non-stop train services between select cities
  • 12 new point-to-point train services
  • Safety is our first priority; improved safety signalling system will be in place: Mamata
  • Integrated security systems have been placed in 150 sensitive stations
  • Recruitment drive to fill-up backlog of SC/ST and women candidates
