Yuvraj Singh's YouWeCan Ventures has invested an undisclosed sum in education marketplace Edukart.

"I'm really excited to be a part of the EduKart journey. I have always believed that following your passion is very important in life. At the same time, a focus on education is also a must in today's cut throat competitive environment," Yuvraj Singh said.

EduKart said it has raised a total of $1 million or Rs 6.4 crore ($1=Rs 63.5) from Yuvraj Singh's YouWeCan Ventures along with Holostik Group's United Finsec (family office arm), and 500 Startups. However, Yuvraj Singh's share in the money raised could not be immediately ascertained.

The list of course providers listed on EduKart.com include names like  Vidyamandir, Aakash, Jamboree, Toppr, Brilliant Tutorials, Indian School of Business, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, School Guru, Vskills, Copal Partners, Digital Vidya, and Knowledge Woods.

"EduKart can really become your trusted partner in making the right choices." said Yuvraj Singh, ace cricketer and founder of YouWeCan Ventures," Yuvraj Singh said.

Edukart was co-founded in 2011 by Stanford University alumnus Ishan Gupta, and IIM (Indian Institute of Management) grad Mayank Gupta.

Yuvraj Singh, who has been in and out of the Indian cricket team in the recent past, seems to be focusing on his startup fund YouWeCan Ventures, while trying to cement his place in the national side.

Yuvraj Singh was IPL's (Indian Premier League) most expensive cricketer this year.

Yuvraj Singh's investment in EduKart comes just days after he put in money in Delhi-based on-demand logistics booking platform Moovo. The online platform offers on-demand booking services for mini-trucks via a mobile app, a website and call-centres.

Yuvraj Singh's YouWeCan had invested an undisclosed amount in mobile beauty and wellness platform Vyomo in April. The app aims to create a complete solution for beauty professionals to manage and grow their business through a smartphone, and customers to book appointments instantly through their mobile devices.
