New Delhi:
It really began with guffawing over stuff that usually brings on a dejected sigh in this season of being prickly about the Commonwealth Games, now exactly a month away.
Amid reports of athletes being ill-equipped, unsure, unhappy, came the news that four Indian wrestlers had been axed from the Commonwealth Games 2010 squad after failing a dope test.
That was duly reported on this website. What would not have made it was a tweet that we caught in our desultory travel through twitter posts.
This one fairly sprang out:
The collective grins are still to fade. And we are going to be following gkhamba in the hope of more such gems.
The smiles stayed with the discovery of this video.
So what is it like when 4,000 people gather to throw 120,000 (biodegradable) water balloons at each other in an attempt to set a new world record for the largest water balloon fight?
Incredibly wet. And a video going very viral. Also great fun of the wish-I-were-there variety.
Here's a look:
Inspiration for a water megafest next Holi? One would have to be hydrophobic not to have enjoyed that.
And hold that smile, here is the picture of the day. Freeze frame on a Presidential prank. The American President, who had several onerous and sobering tasks to do recently, is seen here in quite another mood early last month. Take a look.
That is US President Barrack Obama pranking trip director Marvin Nicholson by placing his toe on the scale while the latter weighs himself in the volleyball locker room at the University of Texas in Austin. This is an official White House release. (Pic Courtesy: http://www.flickr.com/photos/whitehouse)
We'll be crawling the Web for more great tweets, videos, pictures and blogs that just must be showcased. If you spot some that make you stop and stare, send them in here. We'll be happy to credit it to your spidery efforts on the WWW.
Have a great day.
