Watch: What the dhol does to Rihanna's Rude Boy

London: Ever dismissed that song on a 12-year-old's ipod with a flick of your finger and a "that is so dull," only to have it come back and hit (thwack!) you hard the very next morning? Happened today.

So Rihanna singing Rude Boy last evening did not make a dent (I know I shall get my fair share of hate mail for that). Caught the same song on a dhol remix and haven't stopped playing it since. Had to share:

The fair lass there goes by the name of Rani Taj and describes herself on her facebook page as, "the first professional British-Kashmiri female dholi, trained by Dhol Blasters and Azaad Dhol. I also dance with the Bhangra Blasters and love playing the dhol, especially at public events."

She has about 2400-odd fans and should really have more. If so inclined, like her at Rani Taj.

Recent activities include playing dhol to raise money for the Pakistan floods. Fans hail her as the Queen of Bhangra, an epithet that does not seem gratuitous.

We are crawling the Web for more great videos, tweets pictures, blogs and people that just must be showcased. If you spot some that make you stop and stare, send them in here. We'll be happy to credit it to your spidery efforts on the WWW.

Have a great day.
