Mohali, Punjab: Two young women received serious burn injuries when two unidentified men on a bike, threw acid inside the Honda car in which the former were sitting. Acid was thrown inside the car at a fuel station at Dhuan Village here, as the car stopped there for refueling.
The incident was capture on the CCTV camera of the petrol pump.
Mohali Police has registered a case and is going through the CCTV footage to gather more clues about the unidentified assailants. Mohali Police has formed teams to catch the accused.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, the crime may have been committed because of an old enmity.
The girls are employees of a private company, and were in the car along with another colleague when the incident occurred, the police said.
The girls have been shifted to PGI hospital Chandigarh and are believed to be out of danger.
