Chandigarh: There were violent protests in Chandigarh today as members of the Rajput community took to the streets protesting against the newly-launched TV serial - 'Jodha Akbar'.
The police used water cannons and lathi-charged the crowd as they resorted to violence.
Rajput organisations say 'Jodha-Akbar' portrays their community in bad light. Protestors accused the producers of the show of distorting historical facts.
Zee TV began airing the tele series produced by Balaji Telefilms on June 18. It stars Rajat Tokas and Paridhi Sharma as the protagonists.
