
Chandigarh:
A three-year-old child fell into a borewell in Chandigarh on Tuesday but was rescued after nearly three-hour-long operation, officials said.
The child, identified as Naveen, accidentally fell into the borewell in sector 32 of the city near the newly-constructed ITBP building, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shyn said.
The borewell was dug for the construction of the building, he said.
The incident happened when the relatives of the child were working near the borewell.
It took nearly three hours for Army, police and other personnel involved in the operation to rescue the child.
